Jackie’s fun in Kinlochleven

Written by:

When we arrive at Kinlochleven we see 3 deer we then stop at granny Kay’s house and get to see her and my uncle Mark. Granny Kay give us some soda. I get Dr Pepper so did Logan but Ben got Fanta. We play around and then go home we have some arguing for beds but in the end I sleep on the floor but Mum lifts me into bed when I fall asleep.

The next day

When I wake up, I am in bed. I didn’t know how till someone told me. We then go to granny Kay’s she gives us breakfast then we head up to Gray Mares waterfall and see a slow worm on the way. We start climbing but stop because I drop my sun glasses. I get them back and go on the other side. We then all go over to me and mum to take photos. When we get back we have lunch then we go to the park with Owen and Dylan we have fun until a little girl calls for her mum she yelled at us a lot, so we go back to granny Kay’s my dad and the others come to the park as we leave the mum comes back but my dad roasted her.

Thursday

I wake up and have breakfast then go to fort William and get to see big canal gates and 2 swing bridges as boats went through. When we head to the top we count the gates at gate 5 we stop for ice cream Logan gets bubblegum swirl I got Scottish tablet so did Ben. We go all the wayup then get in the car and shop then go home.

Friday

In the morning we go to see the motor bikes start but can’t so we have breakfast at granny Kay’s we then head up to the pipe line to see the old bikes climb a steep path with loose rocks and gravel. The bikes have to not put their foot down or they get a 5 second penalty. If they make it to the top without putting a foot down everyone cheers.

Gosh, you are having a fun time, Jackie. You have done and seen so many exciting things.

I have heard about that motorbike racing, it is really rough ground and at times they jump the motorbike from rock to rock while balancing on the bike. It must be incredibly difficult to do. Is it called motorbike trials?? Is this what you saw?

We heard about the playground incident from Logan. Maybe the girl didn’t understand what you were saying because of your Kiwi accents? Nana and I when we were Scotland found some of the Scottish people very difficult to understand, I guess the same thing happens to Scottish people having difficulty understanding NZ people.

Thank you for all the photos, Nana and I found them very interesting.

    Love

    Grandad.
